Session Topic: Why Design Innovation is a Differentiator for PepsiCo
Presenter: Mauro Porcini, Chief Design Officer
Session Description:Mauro Porcini, as PepsiCo’s first ever Chief Design Officer, is responsible for leading innovation by design across the company’s food and beverage portfolio. His work extends from physical to virtual expressions of the brands, including product, packaging, events, retail activation, architecture, and digital media.  Mauro’s broad approach to design has earned him numerous professional and personal recognitions. In 2015, the newspaper “Il Giornale” named him as “One of the 10 Italians that will change the world” and in 2014, Fast Company listed him as one of the “Most Creative People in Business 1000”.  In addition, his work has been featured in the Louvre in Paris and the Seoul Art Center. Prior to joining PepsiCo in 2012, Mauro served as Chief Design Officer at 3M where, during his tenure, theWall Street Journal’s CFO Journal in 2011 called him “the man putting 3M on the design map”.  He began his career at Philips Design and went on to create his own firm, Wisemad Srl, based in Italy.
